Minskin Cat History & Origin
Paul McSorley began the Minskin program around Boston, Massachusetts, in 1998, combining Munchkin, Burmese, Sphynx, and Devon Rex ancestry to produce short legs and selectively dense fur points. The first standard fur-pointed kittens were reported in 2000.
An initial written breed standard was drafted in 1998.
TICA established the Minskin for registration in 2005, but a 2007 bid to advance did not result in lasting new-breed status.
Current TICA rules retain Minskin in Category VI as a Registration Only experimental developing breed.

Long-legged, more fully coated nonstandard siblings may occur because the desired dwarf and sparse-coat traits segregate independently.
