How much should I feed my dog?

Estimate your dog's daily food portion from their weight, age and activity - based on standard veterinary energy formulas.

How this works

We estimate your pet's Resting Energy Requirement (RER = 70 x weight0.75 in kg), then multiply by a lifestyle factor for their life stage and activity to get their daily Maintenance Energy Requirement (MER). That calorie target is divided by your food's energy density to suggest a daily portion in grams. Puppies and kittens need more energy per kilo than adults; seniors and less-active pets need less. Use this as a starting point, then adjust based on your pet's body condition and your vet's guidance.
